About Me
Bio:
Jasmyn Cheng (b. 1988, Schiedam) is a Dutch abstract artist based in Diemen, the Netherlands. She works intuitively, layering acrylics, inks, and washes to create depth and softness, often letting colors blend and settle naturally. Her compositions balance control and spontaneity, with delicate mark-making adding quiet movement. Inspired by the shifting seasons and the quiet forces that shape both nature and emotion, Jasmyn’s work is a reflection of time, transformation, and stillness.
Artist Statement:
My work is an intimate conversation with nature and ourselves—abstract yet organic, as if shaped by time and quiet forces. I find endless inspiration in the changing seasons and how they shape our moods, actions, and way of being. While I don’t depict landscapes or nature literally, my pieces aim to capture their spirit and the quiet impact they have on us. In a world that constantly pulls us forward, we often forget to slow down. Through balance, texture, and muted tones, I invite a sense of stillness—a moment to pause, reconnect, and just be.
