About

Bio

Whenever I hear someone say 'I'm not creative like you', I want to shake them awake.

Because somewhere along the way, that's what we were told. Get your grades, do well in school, focus on the result. Creativity was a nice-to-have, not a priority.

For nearly 20 years, I identified with my work. I'm a marketing analyst. I like crunching numbers. I did some photography on the side, but I hadn't picked up a brush in two decades.

Then one day I bought a 2.5 hour online art course. And I fell in love.

When I look back at my first pieces, they weren't great. But it doesn't matter, because I loved the process. And somewhere between that first course and now, I found something I didn't know I was missing.

That's why I paint. And that's why I teach.

My work is rooted in memory, ordinary moments of joy that deserve to be held onto. And through my workshops, I want to help you find yours. There's no right or wrong way to create. There's only starting.

Artist Statement

My work is an ongoing conversation between the natural world and the inner self. Rather than depict recognizable landscapes, I explore how the rhythms of nature mirror emotional states, how both are shaped by unseen forces, subtle shifts, and time. Most pieces evolve intuitively, never having a concrete plan, but letting my emotional state, surroundings and pull towards certain techniques or colors, inspire the next piece. These pieces emerge through movement: wet-on-wet layers, sweeping gestures, and an array of unconventional tools. Others form through slow, meditative stacking and layering of shapes, like stones just touching or water flowing over rocks, balancing stillness and connection.

I work primarily on raw canvas, allowing paint to seep, stain, and settle freely. This fluid approach mirrors the way I explore identity, unfixed, evolving, and layered. In a world that urges constant motion, my work offers moments to pause, reflect, and ask: Who am I beneath all this noise? Who do I want to become?
